1st Annual Chili Cook-Off was a success!

What fun we had at the Chili Cookoff- WOW! So much interfaith community coming together to support the work of WIN.  Mary Ann deV, our beloved founder, wasn’t able to attend, but she summed up the evening best: “A sizable income from the event will be appreciated; but I sense that the greatest blessing of the evening was the sharing of love, caring, joy in benefitting our neighbors with needs–& the greater joy of God’s people working together.”  AMEN!

You all helped us exceed our goal for the event by 30%! Blessing and deepest gratitude to all for your generosity, but more so, as Mary Ann said so eloquently, for bringing the joy of God’s people working together. THANK YOU to all the chili chefs, cornbread bakers and dessert creators, the businesses that donated, and all the helping hands that made the evening come together. 

Congrats to Tibbetts Methodist for capturing the Golden Crockpot with their whiskey-infused short-rib chili. We look forward to Tibbetts making it again next year in defence of their prestigious title! They will share the recipe with the WIN community (but only Tibbetts can submit that recipe next year). Thank you one and all!
